        I figured it out. Patrick even took the time to look up my phone number and call me to make sure I got it figured out, after seeing my comment here. I appreciate that. Apparently in the time between adding some items to my cart, and submitting the order, two of the items were no longer available. I’m just glad in the mean time, more items didn’t go out of stock. Thanks for offering these sales now and then. I was hoping to also add some gloves, Super Down Pants, Ultra Merino Zip-offs, and a Icon Pro Suspension system to my purchase. Oh well. I scored a good deal on the Major Brown Tiburon Pants in 32 that I’ve been craving for a while now.

    I’m disappointed by the perpetual shortage of stock at Kuiu. I really like the clothing products, but I’m amazed at how hard it is to actually find something that is in stock. At first I just wrote it off as the growing pains of a new company, but it has been going on for years now. Now you are not only losing out on the order that I would like to make, but in the future I’m going to switch to a brand that has better availability. I know it’s a big sale, and some things are going to sell out, but I was on the website at 9:00 am on the first day of the sale and most things I wanted were sold out. I am writing this because if I was the business owner I would want to hear this from the customer so that I could make the necessary changes to prevent this from happening.

      I can understand your frustrations. I wish I had unlimited inventory year round but it is just not possible. This is the highest amount of inventory going into the holiday season we have ever had. Our inventory challenges are an issue and I am doing my best to try and catch up with demand, which has become global. Because we make such a high quality product and sell it at wholesale prices we are growing exponentially and forecasting this type of growth is a challenge for any business. If there are items you want I encourage you to call customer service and give them a list of items and put them on preorder. This will insure you have what you want, plus we give you free shipping on backorders. I hope I can keep you as a customer. Please let me know if there is something else I can do for you.

    Will any of the out of stock items be back in stock during the duration of the sale?? My wife missed out on getting me a jacket while waiting for the site to catch up to her order .

      We moved a massive amount of inventory today, the biggest single day we have ever had at KUIU by a lot. I am sorry your wife missed out on the Jacket. We will be receiving several new shipments this holiday season. If we do not have what you are looking for with this sale there will be more opportunities with promotions this season.

      The site was a bit slow to load due to high traffic this morning from 8:15 to 8:30 but we were still processing orders. From that point on the site was functioning with no issues. I am not sure why it was not staying up for you? Our phone volume was high as well and I do know people were having challenges getting through at times. Let me know what you would like me to do.

    One issue I’ve had with ordering sale items is that returns for sizing issues aren’t extended the sale price. I’ve never tried on most of the pieces KUIU has. Your fitting always puts me as a L or XL depending on the specific piece. During last years sale, I had to send back a few pieces for different sizes. The return policy for exchanges requires a new order to be placed (at whatever the price is at that time), and then upon receiving the item, you are refunded the price you paid (sale price). So you end up paying the difference if you pick the wrong size. I have determined after sending a few items back, that its easier to order 2 sizes of everything and just return the one that doesn’t fit the best. That can get expensive considering buying 2 jackets/pants/puff layer could run well over 1000$. Is there any chance of honoring sale prices on exchanges for size ONLY? I understand 30% is a hell of a cut and the sale of whats in stock only. I don’t expect to swap a XXXL guide jacket in brown for a L verde later. The stock/demand between those isn’t even close…completely understood. But I REALLY like the gear and made a significant investment in it this year, but could not swing ordering 2 of everything.
    Any thoughts on honoring sale prices for same color for one size off? For example, Im expanding into puff/kenai layers and have NO idea of the cut of the jacket as it can be an outer or insulation layer. Im sure something isn’t going to fit right. If that’s not reasonable, or feasible, than it is what it is. But in consideration of people going all in on the KUIU line, its not a bad customer service thought.

      It has always been the policy on exchanges to give you the sales price if you purchased a product during a promotion. If you could send me the information of your past exchanges that this did not happen I will get you credit back on those items.     Frustrated and bummed that at 0800 I had my items in the cart, had to input my payment information in, and after I hit submit before 0801 the guide pants in 34″ Verde that I had were no longer available. I could understand if someone else beat me to them, and the selection was blacked out. This was analogous to someone walking by and stealing my pants out of the shopping cart after I got the last pair, or running up and putting their tag on the animal I just shot and they missed. After it took 8 months to get my gaiters in this was just too much.

    At least the gaiters are nice, but I had to replace them after I snagged a hole the first day I got to wear them.

      I totally understand your frustrations. Unfortunately this is the way ecommerce works. Until you pay for it is not yours and cannot be decremented from inventory until a transaction is made. I am sorry and hope that we can keep you as a customer.

      Unfortunately, we cannot combine orders. All of our product is shipped from a central warehouse. Once an order is placed, it goes directly into a queue for pick, pack and ship. There is no way for us to find and match the first order with the second.

    Had a great experience and got everything I wanted except for the dual insulated mug. KUIU has great products and I think it’s great they do sales like this even though they clearly do not need to.

    Not everything is on sale, trying to buy the Xtherm and Platypus. I thought everything on Kuiu site is 30% off? Both are in stock Kuiu items they carry?

We cannot include this discount for 3rd party gear because of MAP rules set by the product manufactures. Because of these rules we have never offered 3rd party gear during any of our sales and why we disclose this on our site under Terms & Conditions, which is required by law. Below for your reference are the terms and conditions for the sale.

        I guess I mistook the “all on stock Kuiu items go on sale” meant what Kuiu carries. I don’t differentiate the various brands carried, I see that as all Kuiu and Kuiu is selling their products. Don’t see where it says 3rd party or other manufactures products.

        Kuiu has the platypus and Xterm on their site and in stock.

        Oh well, I know my cash will be spared and used on other companies. Silly games played by Kuiu.

    I tried ordering online Friday and Saturday and the site would not take my order, I tried calling and your customer service # was busy, so I sent two emails to your customer service email address and have yet to receive a reply. I was interested in ordering a bunch of items but I cannot get ahold of Kuiu.

    Missed out on an item as stock levels plummeted during the sale and wondering what happens to returned items. Will out-of-stock items randomly appear online or do the returns go in a different “bucket” (like the showroom)? BTW – I know I missed it at the sale price, but after trying to find a functionally similar, non-camo solution, I realized that even your list price is very low, so I’m not looking for the sale discount, just hoping for a crack at any returns that show up.

    Bought all that I needed that was in stock at the time. I was particularly excited about the Ultra 1800 and 6000 bags I purchased. Frames weren’t available when I made my purchase so I thought I’d just buy a frame once they are back in stock. The bags came and look great but now come to find out, I can’t buy frame and suspension alone so I have to return discounted bag(s) and buy a full pack at full price – Mexico hunt in Jan won’t wait… Love all my Kuiu gear but am disappointed I missed the deal. (Some of us are still out in the field on hunts when these sales come up! ….life is tough)

    I ordered the KUIU gear and it is amazing. The gear is no joke I did a climb to 13k feet and was in sub zero temps with wind probably in the neighborhood of -15 and all I had on was the T and the long sleeve zip and Teton down jacket and I was perfectly warm with no overheat. Also I did an exchange for different sizes and customer service was a breeze I talked with Cody in customer service who was more than enough help. Overall 5 Stars across the board.
