Hello Everyone,

I have an update regarding the KUIU Blog & Newsletter Subscriber pre-shopping & early order event.  Subscribers to the blog and newsletter will be receiving an email on March 10th from KUIU Customer Service explaining how to preregister your information at kuiu.com.

This email will have full and final details of how the pre-shopping event will be handled including product review & sizing chart schedule, customer service support schedule to answer questions prior to the shopping dates, the shopping dates, shipping dates, rules, returns and exchanges.

Between now and the 10th we are finalizing the shopping site, testing, re-testing and running through the pre-shopping event procedures to insure it goes as smoothly as possible. As well as training our new customer service reps for the launch.

I cannot thank you enough for all the support and enthusiasm for this product line and KUIU. The response has been simply amazing.  It is not long now before we will have product in your hands.  Thank you for your patience and look for the email on the 10th.

    3 questions

    1) Will we be billed when we place the order or when it is filled?
    2) Not to sound like a jerk or doubt your research/hard work/expertise but since there is really no reviews out there on these products, and we are not satisfied, will there be a penalty to return it? I know that sounds doubting, but i have a hard time dropping 500 on a pack with no reviews and maybe not liking it for my style of hunting. I am sure that this wont be an issue, but i was just wondering if it was discussed somewhere.

    3) when will the second run of 3000 packs be ready? I may have to hold off till round two due to finances.

Guess i am trying to say, i REALLY REALLY want this pack THIS year, but it is a huge investment for me at this point in my schooling and i want to make sure i have the money ready and that it is all i think it is going to be.

    thanks

    Joe

    • Jason Hairston Reply

      Hi Joe,

      1) You will not be billed until it ships.
      2) You will not only be able to return it, we will pay for postage for you to ship it back.
      3) The first shipment of packs is not expecting to ship until the 1st of May. The second shipment, assuming we sell out the first right away will be available around the 1st of July.

I really really want you to have this pack because you will absolutely love it. I have not put it on anyones back that did not feel this was the best pack they have ever experienced. Let me know what additional questions you may have.

This is great Jason! I work in sales and marketing and being a bit older than than the techie crowd I have had to really understand how social media fits into marketing and sales in a real world situation. Your launch of the KUIU brand using interactive, social media sites is absolutely amazing. Certainly your reputation personally has really added confidence to the new brand, but that is because you stand behind your product and keep your word – something many businesses could really learn about in today’s world.

I’m a fan of your product offering, can’t wait to get some items, and really admire your entrepreneurial spirit!

    Todd

P.S. and it doesn’t hurt that you chose the coolest animal to serve as your brand logo!

    Jason,
I recently stumbled upon the world of Kuiu and boy am I happy I did. I have been looking for some perfomance hunting gear for the last few months and was getting close to pulling the trigger on some Sitka Gear, until I found Kuiu. I’ve read all of the posts on the blog and all I can say is, wow and good work. You’ve done a great job in getting your target market involved and I am confident that the product will live up to the high standards you and the group have set. I look forward to bringing Kuiu around the mountains of MT in 2011!

    Good Work,

Jason, my wife might get mad but will you marry me? She is starting to get annoyed with me because I ask all my buddies if they have seen the lastest KUIU post and then we talk about it for ever, then the women say ” I wish he was this excited for something like our anniversary”. haha I know you have comented on this many times but add it to the number of people interested in a womens product line. Our wives are big backcountry hunters also. Keep them in mind.

    Thanks Jason, phenomenal job Mike

  39. Jake Reply

Might be a dumb question, but I was looking at the KUIU 6000 for a backcountry bowhunting pack, and was wondering if other than the basic cinch down straps on the pack, if there is a way to carry a bow or rifle designed into the pack? Strap at the bottom of the pack for your cam to sit in, a rifle boot or anything along those lines? Sometimes its nice to let your back do the packing and keep your hands free.

Are there going to be specialty items , such as bow hunters jacket, like for tree stand huntin whitetails in the mid west U.S. Don’t usually use a hood , but the beanie looks great

    • Jason Hairston Reply

      Hi Tim,

KUIU is a backcountry/ backpack hunting brand focused on reducing weight and increasing performance through design and technology. I do not see KUIU producing any whitetail gear in the future. Sitka had developed some amazing Whitetail gear the past couple of years and have really done a nice job on their designs. They are becoming a great brand for Whitetail hunting. Check them out at http://www.sitkagear.com. Their new Fanatic Jacket looks like what you are describing.

No problem. You will just be receiving instructions on how to pre-register for the pre-sale. You will have several days to get this done and to us. All of this will be included in the email. I totally appreciate your interest and concern.

      Hi Rod,

Check the blog there is a couple of reviews on both the packs, 3000 & 6000.

      Jason

  49. Joe Reply

I had another quick question, are there going to be any other pics/reviews/threads on the packs before they go on sale? I would love to see some of them loaded down for hunting/bivy etc.

On the 3000, can you separate the pack and the frame and sandwich meat/quarters between them? I am just afraid that if i have to use all of the ci for meat on a bivy hunt i would have to make another trip for everything else.

    • Jason Hairston Reply

      Hi Joe,

I will have much more information on the packs. The 3000 is not set up to load meat behind the bag. If space is a concern I would recommend cinching down the 6000, it goes down to almost nothing if you look at the post. I understand what you are asking for and we have some new concepts we are working on now that will attach to the Icon. Thank you for the email.

  51. Jesse Jaymes Reply

    Jason-

I have tuned in over time and having a day off duty, wanted to confirm a few things, seeing as the order time is nigh.

From what I’ve read, is it MOST or ALL of your products are made in BC? Sorry if it comes off as irrelavant, but I’d prefer to spend my money in the US, and give it to the Canucks 2nd. China, Vietnam, and Sri Lanka are turn offs. Would be a huge swaying point(at least from the circles I run in) if the above was correct.

Also, a previous poster asked about returns. I have no intention of using gear for a season and saying “This just doesn’t work for me” and asking you to eat it. But simply tried on, with tags still hanging, will not a burden to return for different sizing?

If so, like the 1000 other posters, look forward to trying some of your gear and wish you the best is you company and development.
