Enclosed is a copy of the email Eric, KUIU’s customer service manager, will be sending out to you later today.  Please email service@kuiu.com if you do not receive this email by tomorrow morning.  We know there are several steps to this pre-shopping event and I apologize if it feels a little complicated.  There is quite a bit of execution that has to happen behind the scenes to make sure those who subscribed first get their orders placed first and that non-subscribers do not have access to your pre-shopping event.  I appreciate your patience and understanding with this process.  It is very important to me you get the opportunity to shop before everyone else as a sign of my appreciation for subscribing to the KUIU blog and newsletter.  Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Hello Subscribers,

As most of you are aware, as a thank you for your loyalty and support in KUIU we are offering an early shopping opportunity for blog & newsletter subscribers before we open to the public. The date you subscribed will be “your place in line” for the pre-shopping event.  Those who subscribed last March will have the opportunity to shop first. We will continue to process orders by subscription date until all the orders are complete or we are out of product.

From Thursday, March 17th until noon PST, Monday, March 21st an early version of our shopping site will be ready for your previewing and pre-registration of a kuiu.com account.  You must pre-register if you are going to pre-shop. Registration allows us to grant you access to the shopping event. We will email you a reminder and the link to register on the 17th.

In order to manage access to the live shopping site, on March 21st we will send an email to all registered shoppers with a shopping day between March 23rd and March 27th based on your subscription date.  During this period, if it is not your day to shop, the products will not be visible to you on the shopping site. If you have a conflict with your shopping day and need to shop on another day please email customer service (service@kuiu.com) we will make special arrangements.  Note that we will also be limiting the quantities of each product you can order during pre-shop to give everyone a fair opportunity to get the products they need.

Orders placed during pre-shop are expected to ship by April 15th (with the exception of the Icon Backpacks & Guide Gloves), and you will not be billed until the order is shipped (however, you may see a pre-authorization on your account when you first submit the order). Once you receive your order, if you have an exchange or sizing issue, please contact our customer service center right away at service@kuiu.com. We will be holding back a small portion of the inventory to help with exchanges.  If you will be exchanging for a new size PLEASE contact customer service right away so we may set aside the the product.

We are very excited about the pre-shop event, and we’re doing everything we can to make sure all of our loyal subscribers get their chance to shop. If we need to make changes to the dates or the event as we outlined it above, we will post the changes as soon as possible to keep you informed. Please let us know if you have any questions at service@kuiu.com.  We appreciate your support and patience for this event and look forward to begin shipping you the new KUIU products.

    Any updates on the guide gloves before the shopping event?

      The Guide Gloves are going to be shipping late and I will not have a photo of the preproduction sample to show you. I did do a post in December on these glove covering Pittards Leather. I hope this helps. The Guide gloves are amazing.

          I hate to tell you the gloves will only be available in Camo. We had some challenges in leather delivery this first order and had to cancel the major brown color. This will come in the next shipment. I want some as well. This glove is amazing.

    I have a couple of quick questions.
    1. I registered on my work computer and my home computer, but I did one later than the other. Is there any way that I can find out which I did first so I am further up the line?
    2. I plan to order an Icon pack. Do you any ETA on those? Also if we order something else with it will you just ship it all at the same time later?

      Matt,

      You will get an email to both addresses, which will tell you which you subscribed to first.

      The Icon packs are expected to ship at the beginning of May, unless there is a delay in production or customs. I will keep you informed if anything changes. You will be able to preorder one during the Pre-Shop event and will not be charged until it ships.

    Sweet! One question though…
    If ordering gloves and a pack with the clothing, will there be seperate shipping charges for two deliveries or will the clothing items be held back and shipped along with the pack and gloves when they come into stock?

      There is a separate shipping and handling charge for the packs due to the size of the box they will ship in. The gloves will be on us.

I can’t wait to get a Icon 3000 pack strapped to my back, hopefully, I’ll have one on my way up into the Colorado and Utah, Wilderness this year.

    Is there any way to “reserve” what we may want to buy and then wait until the retail outlet opens in Dixon to see the items and try them on in person before deciding on a size?

      Hi Dave,

      Unfortunately we are not currently set up to reserve gear for you to pick up at the store. I apologize, in the future we will have inventory stocked in the show room and if we have inventory left after the pre-shopping event we will stock some here. We will have a detailed sizing chart on the sight during the preview and shopping.

    Our note says there will be a limit to what we may purchase.
    I missed where it said what the limit is. What is the limit? Is it like no more than two 185 series or of any product?

      There will be a limit by item. This will be put in place to keep from guys buying for their friends or selling the gear on ebay. You will be able to get one of everything and two baselayer products during pre-shopping. I hope this answers your question. Please let me know if it has not.     I’m getting excited … The first thing I did when
    I got home from work tonight was check my email and as promised there it was. Truly first class!!

    Question regarding ordering. If all of the items we select in the pre-sale aren’t available will we have a chance to revise our order before it’s finalized. For example if I order both the rain pants and jacket but only the pants are available will I have a chance to remove the pants from my order. Not sure that I’d want one without the other.

    Unfortunately the dates this all happens is during our kids “spring break” and we will be on vacation away from the world wide web! So I assume I will lose out on my chance to purchase my Icon 6000 that I would definately be purchasing if I were able to???? That would be a bummer! Another reason I shouldn’t of had kids……

    I know you answered the sizing chart is forthcoming, and numbers mean a lot to some, but would you say the tops and jacket sizes are the same or very close to Sitka?

      I do not know if Sitka has changed their fit and sizing of their current line from when I was there. I can tell you this KUIU line is very true to size. I do not mean to be vague, but I do not want to steer you down the wrong road on sizing or fit by comparing to Sitka. Please double check the sizing chart to make sure. Let us know if you have any questions.

    Howdy,

    I have a concern. A few days ago I commented on the most recent post prior to this. I then checked the “Notify me of follow-up comments via email” box. Shortly thereafter I received an email informing me to activate my subscription.
    Since I originally subscribed in late December, (+ or – a week), I found this email to be concerning as to my place in line for the pre-order.
    I have addressed this via email, however, assuming you guys are swamped right know, it seems getting a response via this blog is much more realistic since I have not gotten a response to my email regarding the same subject. I don’t mean to be persistent, (wait, yes I do:)), but I was wanting to verify my place in line based on my December subscription date, not the March date which would be an error. Thank you, and if you haven’t figured it out, I am very excited about the genesis of KUIU!

    I am a bit confused on all this pre registering thing. I think I am (I am getting emails) but how can I be sure so as not to miss out on the pre sale? Also I am heading out for a week to go steelhead fishing so won’t have access to the internet. There are several things I need to purchase. I won’t be back until the 20 th. ANy suggestions? I will be really bummed if I miss out on this camo gear. I have been really excited following your progress in developing this great line.

      All you need to do is go to the website between the 17th & 21st and register an account with kuiu.com, this will include your contact, shipping and billing information.
