As I sit here and reflect on 2011 I could not ...

As I sit here and reflect on 2011 I could not be more proud of what we have accomplished together in just 9 months. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for an absolutely amazing first year.

As 2011 pasts I cannot be anything but excited for 2012 as it is setting up to be a year unlike anyother.

It begins next week with the first of several shipments of long awaited inventory to fill in back orders. During the year I have been working diligently with our suppliers and factories to develop a supply chain to keep inventory in stock during 2012. We will not be perfect, but this is the long term goal.

We launched a KUIU customer photo contest inspired by our In The Field Album where you have the chance to vote on your favorite photos submitted each month. The contest winner will win free gear and be featured in the next KUIU advertisement in Eastman’s Hunting and Bow Hunting Journals. The details will be out next week.

KUIU will be attending it’s first consumer trade shows in 2012, WSF, SCI, PBS and Western Conservation where I am looking forward to introducing KUIU to those who have not had the chance to touch, feel and experience the product line.

Throughout 2012 many new products will be introduced which promise to push the bar on innovation, design, weight and technology.  Many of these products you have requested here on the blog and they will be simply amazing.

In 2012 we will develop the very first consumer designed product line with our Day Pack Design & Development Project. This project is for sure to be industry changing.

I also begin working with several new suppliers and technologies in 2012 that will further KUIU’s ability to push innovation in other product categories for Mountain Hunting and pave the way to future KUIU innovation.

The future is incredibly exciting for KUIU and I look forward to experiencing it all with you.  We are just getting started!

I wish all of you a very Happy New Year.

Jason

    Jason,

I can’t tell you how pleased I have been with my KUIU gear this season!!! Your continued dedication to us and to your hunting heritage is what has made this all a success!!

I am extremely excited to see what 2012 has in store for KUIU and I can’t wait to keep putting in a few tid bits here and there in regards to new pack designs.

Thank you for all that you are doing and have done for US…the hardcore mountain/back country hunters. It has truly been a search for me to find the clothing that could fulfill my needs as a back country hunter and I have found it in KUIU. Continue to push the envelope and create the gear that we are all looking for and need!!!

Hey Jason, great work in the last year!

When will we find more details about what’s coming in 2012? I’m trying to slowly piece together the gear I need for my first sheep hunt, and I face a lot of little decisions like this one: I want a water-resistant, breathable hat with a bill, for a large head, and I don’t know if I should buy a Sitka Jetstream or wait to see what Kuiu has in the pipeline. Fill in that template for half a dozen things like this… “I need one of these — I wonder if Kuiu’s going to make one before my trip?”

I’m also wondering if there are updates planned to existing products, or if things like the attack pants are so good they’ll pretty much stay the same.

I’m sure you can’t give out all the information we’d like to hear because of various business concerns, and I appreciate they you’ve already been more open than any other gear company (a great decision, I think), but I can’t help being curious for more, and I’m sure I’m not alone. So, what else can you share?

    Thanks!

Keep up the good work, and we will all be winners. I have used my Kuiu gear in Mountain terrain and it worked great. Can’t wait to use it hunting , as I know it will be light years ahead of the kit I used on my last Elk hunt.

All the best to Kuiu and everybody on here for 2012,

    HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

It’s great to hear that KUIU has had a successful first year; especially in these trying econimic times. I believe the success has been so expedient due to several facts. 1.) you know the business because you have been their previously and you are an experienced mountain hunter that knows what gear is necessary in the mountains. 2.) You have created a true people company that obviously cares for and about your customers and #(3.) you are involving your customers in a very positive fashion, which truly tells me that you want to build the best products available, so that your customers will have better tool’s in their arsenal, which will assist them in their individual Mountain Hunting Challenges.

Thanks again and I look forward to using all of KUIU’s great gear again in 2012 and I can’t wait for the 2012 products to arrive.
Good job and good luck in 2012!!!!
    P. S. I always look forward to your Wednesday morning news letter/deals!!!!

Looking forward to following along with the blog and putting in my 2 cents. I love what you guys are doing with KUIU and can’t wait to see where it takes you. I love a company or project that goes completely against old out dated industry standards! Good Luck in 2012 but I don’t think you’ll need luck with a solid company structure/purpose and great looking gear!

At the start of 2011 I had no idea about KUIU and to be honest can’t remember how I heard about KUIU. But, somehow I got pointed here and have thouroughly enjoyed the process of input, following along the develoment, attending the open house and getting to do my own field testing in Northern BC for 10 days with my Dad.

It’s been a great ride as a consumer, I can’t imagine how you and your team must feel as you look back on an amazing year. Looking forward to what 2012 has in store.

Jason, congrats on the great year again. What a way to prove your business model and ideas concerning new investigation and shopping habits of folks via the internet. We all truly appreciate it.

As for shows, I’m not sure if you have looked at the Dallas Safari Club show before, but with the kind of folks running around there, I believe it will be very well recieved by folks who appreciate very high end equipment. The vendor costs may not warrant such a thing though. Also, I have recently added another organization to the list, The Texas Bighorn Society. I will find out more about their 2012 Roundup in Dallas this July. Would be more than happy to help KUIU get in front of some more sheep fanatics. Will update you with more info soon.

Best of luck to everyone at KUIU in 2012.

I do not have an exact date, quite yet for the Guide Jackets. The factory is cutting and sewing them now and we will being to receive Guide jackets in the next couple of weeks. I do not have a date until the factory notifies us they are ready for shipping.
