For the first time since we opened in 2011, we have taken our original glove and redesigned it for better fit, function, comfort, and durability. Using the same Pittards Oiltac Leather and Toray’s Primeflex Soft Shell fabric, we have added features that will make this glove even better than it was before. Still coated with Toray’s Kudos DWR for water resistance, this glove is still KUIU’s premiere all purpose glove that is perfect for a wide range of hunting conditions, and the ideal choice if you only are going to buy one pair of gloves.   Below are pictures and brief explanations of why we added additional features to an already perfect glove.

Leather Forechettes– We have added Pittards Leather between each finger for added durability and increased grip.

Hypalon Reinforced Cuff Tab– We introduced a Hypalon cuff and closure tab for a stronger and more durable closure.

Webbing Loop at Lower Cuff– The addition of a webbing loop at the cuff allows you to easily pull your glove on when your hands are wet, or you are wearing your Guide Glove over the top of one of our baselayer gloves.

Single Piece Leather Palm-Eliminating the seams in the palm means a more durable and comfortable fitting glove.

Improved Thumb Fit– A redesigned thumb fit allows for improved range of motion and less constriction.

Reinforced Patches– Adding an extra layer of leather to the outside of the palm and between the thumb and index finger, adds durability to vulnerable parts of the glove.

The (thumb-to-index finger) remodel, looks like a fantastic upgrade.
I sent a “very detailed”, hand drawn illustration, of where the (older version) glove was not working for my “Huge Meat Paws”. 🙂
It appears you addressed that, and some other upgrades.
While it seems like years ago, I’m certain it has been less than a year… Thank you, for the expedited remodel.

Next order, will include a “Second Chance” at these gloves.

Thank you for your input, comment and a “second chance” at the Guide Glove. We are very happy with the results of the Guide Glove redesign.

Good to see you’ve made it out of hibernation. I remember your hand diagram that you sent back with the Merino gloves last year. Very detailed and well explained, as expected. Good to hear from you, best of luck with your season.

        Todd H,

It is nice to know, that drawing found its way.
Thanks for the kind words! Off-grid is fun, most of the time 🙂
I’ll be back on the electronic grid/ forum, soon.

        Best of times, this season-

A question for Yukon and other glove owners out there about really, and I mean really, rainy conditions. I will be in SE AK for a fall goat hunt and to be honest, I’ve never had anything but a neoprene glove not fail in such constant wet/gripping/using hands, conditions thus far. Do these pass the submerged test ie, are they waterproof construction, not just waterproof materials? Also, with wet or clammy hands, do the linings stay put when you pull them off – a constant hassle in other gloves I’ve had.

These are a hardshell fully seam taped glove. They are submersible. There is no liner in this glove, I know the issues you have had with this and other gloves and you will not have this with the Yukon Glove.
