    Well This sounds like a good free service. I am a member of Huntin Fool. A person has to watch out that a guide/outfitter might be good for one guy but the next he might be sub par. Still best to get references and talk to other clients which also might be biased since the guide/outfitter might only provide his more favorable clients. So if for example a person has been putting in for AZ for 15+ years he has alot of time and money invested and who hate to have a sub par guide/outfitter ruin his hunt. Maybe a list of your clients experience with guides/outfitters would be good to have. A great hunt for me where I had to pack several miles in sleep in a tent might not be what another hunter is looking for or idea of a good experience.

    I have alot of days of working as a guide and packer , and it can cut both ways . All be it there is a lot of bad guides and outfitters around , people can also be unrealistic in thier exspectations , or just unprepared .

      Great point! It absolutely does. Every guide I have hunted with talks about having clients prepared and in shape and what a difference that makes to the whole experience. We gauge a customers experience and expectations to where and who we recommend.

    Jason, cool idea- nice! I have what I think is a related question that stems from the fact that I’m a DIY hunter- would this service and info apply to DIY guys like me? What I mean by that is, would Brendan be willing to help out guys interested in doing DIY hunts with useful information? I’m not trying to ask for more than you intend on offering, I’m just wondering if this is part of the package.

    Luke- you are correct, expectations are a huge factor in the success of a trip. Its important to know what an area realistically has to offer. There are a ton of good outfitters that offer a great product, but if the customers expectations are not on the same page it can be a buzzkill on a great experience for both the hunter and the outfitter.

    Interesting. I am cautiously optimistic about your concept. I like the idea that you are supposedly more “objective”, but what is in it for KUIU?? Since there are many consultants, etc. out there and you advertise in at least one of their magazines, what is the response going to be from them? That being said, I look forward to what happens with your concept.

    It is more of a sounding board for the guy looking for a mountain hunt, not booking agency. We have been doing it for the past 2 years while helping guys get set up for their hunts with gear. Nothing new, just letting more of our customers know.

    What is in it for us? We like to see our customers return successful from hunts. All part of the customer service end of KUIU.

    Jason this sounds like a great plan and I am all for it. I don’t want to come off sounding like a prick because I absolutely love the KUIU gear I think you need to worry more about getting the verde sizing to match the older Vias stuff or your going to loose a lot of customers me included. All of my Vias has fit absolutely perfect but the verde stuff has been way smaller. I can still wear it but it is real tight. I am normally a XXL in KUIU and the verde fits like a XL. Almost like a whole size. I hope this issue will be fixed. Thanks for listening.

    I am not on the pre-order list, (atm)- But, this would be very deflating news, if correct!

    I think/ believe- This new service, will eventually work-out! I wonder, how ‘some’ of your marketing avenues, will take to it?

    YOUR running (a ship), never before sailed in this market!!!
